Angie’s Mother of the Groom Outfit

Quite often, we get so busy during the summer months that I don’t have time to photograph every order before it leaves so when one of my clients offered to loan her outfit back to me to put on display, I jumped at the opportunity!
Angie’s son and daughter-in-law were married last May in stunning Positano and my brief was to create something bright, flattering and sophisticated in yellow for her to wear as Mother of the Groom. As with lots of my clients, Angie was afraid of  looking “mumsy” and wanted her outfit to reflect her personality; to feel like a second skin.
Angie also loved the idea of being able to wear the same outfit all day but wanted to find a way of creating a separate day and night look.
After discussing a few ideas, we settled on this fitted V-neck dress with Bardot neckline and added asymmetric pleats to elongate and flatter her figure. A beaded diamanté belt off-set the bold colour, showed off the quality of the silk and drew the eye to her fabulous waist!
We opted to add structure within the layers of the dress to give extra support and comfort whilst reducing the need to wear a bra. Finally, the detachable full over-skirt with dipped hemline enabled Angie to change her look from day to evening effortlessly as it fastened neatly under the crystal waistband.
On the day, Angie chose to add simple and classic black accessories with a hint of sparkle as a backdrop for her bold and beautiful dress.
Thank you for sharing your photos. It looks like a wonderful time was had by all!
